President's Letter: New Structure of Advisory Council

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

With the increased number of members worldwide, the current ISPAD Advisory Council structure may not be fit for purpose anymore. We are failing in our desire to have active representation across the world, a major statement in our strategy. Therefore a series of changes are being proposed to the criteria for being an Advisory Board Member, both to elevate the position and to give clear guidelines on the role of the new Regional Advisory Council Members during their period of office.

Click the link and read the proposed changes in ISPAD Advisory Council Structure.

These ideas were initially presented and debated at the Berlin Executive Winter Meeting and a formal paper discussed and endorsed by the Executive Board at the ADA meeting in San Francisco in June 2014. With the voting of the final draft at the Executive Board Meeting in Toronto, we ask the ISPAD Membership to endorse the proposed changes and to formally adopt this new Advisory Council Structure.

Read the official version of the letter.

If agreed, then the processing of changing the By-Laws of the Constitution can be taken forward over the next year.

Yours sincerely,
Stephen Greene
ISPAD President
