The JENIOUS Group is the ISPAD Young Community and supports the spread of the highest level knowledge currently available as well as the improvement of personal competences and development of tailored programs inside the ISPAD Society. We also want to encourage creativity and innovative ideas that young members can bring to the Society.

Our Vision is:

  • To create a unique, innovative platform in order to connect young healthcare professionals that deal with diabetes under the age of forty.
  • To create a community of young ISPAD Members to promote and develop dedicated programs for the youngest members of the Society. 

Current JENIOUS leaders are Klemen Dovc, Elisa Giani and Tiago Jeronimo.

The 2020 Jenious Leader Election is already opened to receive your candidacy.

The new elected leader will serve for the period 2021-2023.

You are warmly invited to apply for this position if you fulfill the following conditions:

  • JENIOUS member
  • Active ISPAD member for at least two years.
  • You are at least one of listed:

  • Active participant (tutor, faculty) during ISPAD Science School OR
  • Active participant in JENIOUS projects (submitting project proposals, collaborations) OR
  • Active participant within ISPAD (roving reporters, member of any ISPAD committee).

We strongly encourage you to apply for the position along with a feasible research project to be conducted during your term. Are you ready to submit your candidacy?

We kindly remind you that the next ISPAD Conference will take place virtually from 15 to 17 October 2020 and the JENIOUS Session is scheduled on October 16 at noon Central Daylight Time (CDT). Our session will host eminent speakers: Prof. Moshe Phillip, Prof. Tadej Battelino, and Dr. Katarzyna Gajewska who will cover current trending topics:

  • Digital/virtual clinic implementation
  • Time in range in diabetes care
  • Psychological support during COVID-19 pandemic.

Also, ISPAD/JENIOUS are enthusiast to announce a new survey on TelemedicineWe are working to better understand the use of telemedicine for diabetes care in different countries with a specific focus on diabetologists' attitude towards the use of advanced telehealth programs. We will be thankful if you answer to this brief survey, where you can complete at the link.


JENIOUS and Diathlete (League of Diabetes) are trying to understand the knowledge of exercise and type 1 diabetes and the advice the healthcare professionals of all ages, working with children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes, give to them and their families. For this propose, we are promoting a survey at the  link . If you have not completed it, you are still in time.
