Dhruvi Hasnani
has awarded Allan Drach Clinical Fellowship for 2016

Dr. Dhruvi J Hasnani MD. Physician, works as the Assistant Diabetologist at Diacare- Diabetes Care & Hormone Clinic in Ahmedabad, India. She is the project head for all the Type 1 Diabetes programs running at our centre like “Changing Diabetes in Children- CDiC”, “Life For A Child – LFAC”, SWeeT registry. Currently, she is involved in preparing the RSSDI National Guidelines for the “Management of Inpatient Hyperglycemia”.  She is also a faculty member responsible for teaching activities of doctors, nurses and other health care professionals at regional level. She is the head for implementation of EHR (Electronic Health Record) system at all centres of Diacare. She has been actively involved in the setting up of three Diabetes Care centres in Ahmedabad. She manages the day-to-day clinical activities- Standard Operating Procedure, establishing priorities, troubleshooting, administration and recruitment of new staff. She is the one responsible for organizing of camps, motivational programs, educational activities and co-curricular activities for our type 1 patients, their family and peers.
Dr. Dhruvi Hasnani has a humble number of national and international publications. She also has attended national and international conferences and has been awarded Travel grant and scholarships for attending the ISPAD+APEG Conference in 2015 and the ISH Summer School in Beijing respectively.
She aspires to pursue Pediatric Diabetology as the further course of her career and her dedication towards the Type 1 as well as the young adolescents has been commendable. She aims to improve the existing standard of care of Diabetes in India and strengthen the diabetes education as the pillar for proper management and care of diabetes. Digitization of health records for benchmarking and the use of technology to stay in touch with the patients is one of the fields where she excels. Use of insulin pumps, CGMS and AGP technology has also taken speed in our centre after her increased interest in these areas. Standardized screening procedures and management of the young patients with diabetes for the delay of diabetic complications has been her motto and she is working to her highest limit to achieve this goal.
She is a very competent and excellent counselor and a strong support for her patients. She is the “Go-to person for her adolescents patients for all their queries and advises. She is without doubt worthy for the Drash fellowship by the ISPAD.
