Feny Patel

was awarded the Allan Drash Clinical Fellowship for 2017


Feny Patel was born in 1987 in Vapi, Gujarat, India. She completed her M.D in physics in Tver, Russia, in 2011. She then did her practice as a M.D Physician at Shushrusha Hospital, Navsari in Gujarat from 2011 to 2014. She also worked for many humanitarian organizations.

In 2014, she joined Diacare – Diabetes and Hormone Clinic Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, as an assistant Diabetologist. There she started working for Type 1 and Type 2 diabetic patients and conducted many camp and education seminars for them. She visited several tertiary Healthcare Centers such as Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhuj, and Vadodara specializing in treatment and care of diabetes and endocrine disorder. She engages in projects such as “Changing Diabetes in Children- CDIC” and “Life for A Child -LFAC “.

Feny Patel has been involved in many research papers and presented them during conferences in different countries and societies. She also actively works in DEVOTE trials.

She has been awarded Spotlight of September 2016 by the International Society of Hypertension (ISH). She is also a certified Diabetes Educator from the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) and has now been awarded the Alan Drash ISPAD Fellowship 2017. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association (ADA), International Society of Hypertension (ISH), Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) and International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD).

She aspires to pursue dedicating herself to Pediatric Diabetology, to the Type 1 as well as to the young adolescents. She aims at improving the existing standards of care, treatment, and education for Type 1 diabetes in India thanks to improvement in technology and management.
