Dear ISPAD members and trainees,

It is our pleasure to inform you that the application for the 2018 ISPAD Science School for Physicians in Tokyo, Japan is open.

We invite physicians from around the globe who are currently receiving pediatric endocrine/diabetes training or those at an early stage of career development in diabetes investigation.

The course aims to provide pediatric diabetologists in training an opportunity to further their knowledge and to learn new skills in the area of diabetes research in children and adolescents. Fundamental and clinical topics in type 1, type 2, and monogenic diabetes, including genetics, pathophysiology, epidemiology, treatment and management, will be covered by local pediatric and internal experts and invited foreign members of ISPAD.

Set in the historical and relaxed environment of Shonan Village Center, Kanagawa (near Kamakura-city; ancient capital in Japan), Japan, participating students will enjoy Japanese culture and history and have the occasion to interact with each other and faculty members alike. Students will also have an opportunity to discuss and develop their own research and plans.
