Endorsement of Guidelines, Position Statements & Consensus Reports

ISPAD Endorsement of Guidelines, Position Statements and Consensus Reports

ISPAD is eager to be involved in guidelines, position statements and consensus reports that involve children, adolescents and young adults with diabetes. To endorse these activities, we need to be involved early in the writing process to ensure the activities are scientifically sound and in accordance with ISPAD's own guidelines, our priorities and goals. Therefore, we highly recommend the following if you are planning to seek ISPAD endorsement:

DO’s:

  • Do contact us well BEFORE the paper is written or the activity undertaken.
  • Do make sure the content aligns with the most recent ISPAD guidelines.
  • Do ask our Executive Board to nominate the relevant ISPAD member to be the contact person with your organisation.

DON’T’S:

  • Don’t ask ISPAD to endorse a statement or activity once it has already been written (even in draft form) or undertaken.
  • Don’t ask ISPAD to endorse a statement or activity that is not evidence-based or has limited educational value.
  • Don’t ask ISPAD to endorse a statement or activity that is for promotional purposes or has been sponsored by industry.

Please contact the ISPAD Secretary General here for any further enquiries.
