The Importance of Psychological Support in Diabetes Management: My Personal Experience and How I Can Contribute

Hello and greetings to all the respected members,

I am Olaa Rady, Advocate for People with Diabetes, Psychological Specialist – Diabetes Educator – Certified Trainer. I have been living with type 1 diabetes for over 14 years, and I am also a mother to a 5-year-old daughter who has had diabetes since she was 1.5 years old.

I help people living with diabetes and their families in coping with the disease by providing psychological support and diabetes education. My mission is that I believe diabetes requires continuous education about the disease, along with resilience, mental toughness, and hope, supported by ongoing psychological care to overcome the challenges.

I have always emphasized that psychological support makes a significant difference in the lives of those living with diabetes, as well as in the lives of their families. My journey began with a true desire to help people accept their illness and live with it comfortably and confidently. Through my sessions and workshops, I strive to convey a single message to every patient and their family: You are not alone, and with knowledge, support, and optimism, you can live a better life.

Additionally, I run a WhatsApp community for people with diabetes and their families, as well as the ‘Sokar & Hayaa’ page on Facebook for psychological support and diabetes education. I also actively contribute to several groups dedicated to diabetes.

I would love to join you and actively contribute to learning and sharing everything I have to help achieve a stable and safe life for those living with diabetes and their families. Is there a group where I can connect with you?
